Stitching Santa

Yesterday, not only did I get to open my typical presents, but I opened up my 2 Stitching Santa presents! 🙂 For those of you who don’t know, Stitching Santa is a swap hosted by Sheila over at Sew Chet.

I decided to do both the sewing and the yarn one. Here’s the goodies I got from Susan from over at Desert Sky Quilts. And for those of you who don’t know, Susan also tirelessly blogs at Quilt BOM to keep us all up to date with any new BOMs, CALs, KALs, FALs, and just about any type of fabric or yarn along you can think of! I’m also hoping that I can get to QuiltCon East to meet her.

Stitching Santa from Susan

A mini bundle of 4 Riley Blake fq’s (I love the little seahorses!), a spool of matching Aurifil thread, the cute hand towel, and a package of Poke-A-Dots sticky thimbles that I’m looking forward to trying out!!! I think those sticky thimbles are going to come in real handy when doing embroidery!

Thank you Susan for the fabric goodness!

Now onto the yarn package I received from Melissa from Thread and Scissors.

2 skeins of Knit Picks Brava Bulky in Solstice Heather (it’s so soft and squishy!), a super size skein of Sugar ‘n Cream Twists in Overcase Twists, a skein of Lion Brand Amazing in Ruby (which I love!), a pack of care labels, a pack of small point protectors (which I’m assuming is for knitting needles? I really need to learn how to knit) & a pack of locking stitch markers. I’m looking forward to some yarn time. 🙂

Thank you Melissa for the yarney goodness!

That’s a wrap for #stitchingsanta 2016. Looking forward to participating again next year. Before I go, there’s a few things I want to mention.

This site is going to be completely reworked prior to the new year! This is my upteenth time attempting to have a niche blog and, not surprising, I lost interest. Why? There are way too many things that I do and enjoy to be able and to narrow down a blog to 1 thing just does not work for me. I’ll be keeping this site, but it will be different then it is now.

If you follow Fandom in Stitches you’ve all ready seen it. Their first Q/SAL in 2017 is Goblin King: A Labyrinth Quilt for which I’ve designed numerous embroidery patterns for. 🙂 It’s exciting for me to be able to join with some amazing designers for this combo paper piecing and embroidery along. It’s starting on Jan 4th for those who are interested. Go check out their website for more information.

And lastly, if you want to read my ramblings, come visit me over at Resourceful Momma. I’m no longer try to be something I’m not. And I’m definitely NOT niche! Over there you’ll be able to read about (in the future) all the different things I do – not just quilting and embroidery, but all different kinds of crafts, cooking, canning, gardening, self-sufficiency, a smidge of bragging when I go fishing or hunting, a bit about home schooling (since we’re hoping to home school our little girl until she has to go to middle school, and whatever else I’ve got going on. But, like I said earlier, this site will stay! I’m just not going to be blogging here after the Goblin King Q/SAL is over.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and have a safe and Happy New Year!

  1. You’re welcome! I had so much fun making my boxes, and learned a lot from doing it this first time. I’m going to go subscribe to the other blog so I can still keep up with you. As for Savannah, I’m counting on it!
