Welcome to Cloth and Paper Studio! I'm Mel and I'm glad you stopped by. I'm a stay-at-home momma to a very active 4 year old little girl who keeps me busy sitting on the floor playing Barbies, Play-Doh and other activities. The things you find here are what I do in my spare time to keep my sanity. Way back when (about 35 years ago) I started crafting as a kid. Then around 10 years old I learned how to sew. Approximately 20 years ago I stumbled across a pictorial quilt at the state fair that used many different types of fabrics. I then started making art quilts from clothing, linens, and other fabrics I purchased very cheap from the thrift store and haven't looked back. I'll sew just about anything and everything that catches my fancy at that moment. I'm also a big fan of hand embroidery, hexies, and teeny tiny piecing. I love designing patterns and my favorite tools to do so are mechinical pencils, copy paper, graph paper, the Electric Quilt program, my all-in-one printer, and a flexible ruler.
